Hi there, I’m Rachael Hempling. I’m a barrister, mediator and family dispute resolution practitioner practicing my craft solely in family mediation.

I bring a calm, kind and measured approach to a mediation, working with like minded legal practitioners in order to guide parties towards a mediation agreement they can live with and move on with. I carry out a thorough intake process and have various templates to assist and support practitioners prepare for their client’s mediation.

Never has the practice of family law been more onerous and time consuming. Let me help you resolve your client’s matter so you can get on with documenting their decision and drafting orders.

Mediation Services

ONLINE MEdiation

If the past few years have done nothing else, they have taught us that we are all only a Zoom call away. I conduct online mediations right across Australia (and internationally) bridging the divide so as to provide quality lawyer assisted mediations.

Full day: $2,000 + GST per person

In-Person Mediation

For those in South East QLD and Northern NSW I offer in-person mediations at French Quarter Chambers and Mediation Centre or another venue local to you. Fee’s do not include venue hire.

Full day: $2,000 + GST per person

CHILD INCLUSIVE MEDIATION

I offer in-person and online child inclusive mediations to suitable legally assisted parents. I collaborate with a number Child Consultants, who assist in find a deveplopmentally appropriate plan for the family moving forward.

Fee’s do not include venue hire.

My Costs: $2,200 per person

Child Consultant Costs are dependant on the practitioner.

Other Services

Invitiation to mediation

If you are having difficulties engaging the other party or legal practitioner let me assist in extending the invitation, explaining the process of mediation and making the arrangements moving forward.

Cost: $400 + GST (inclusive of s 60I Certificate if eligible)

Booking and preparing for mediation is an easy 4 step process

and secure a date

My online booking platform makes it easy to check availability, share it with your client or a colleague and secure a date online anytime, day or night.

Receive confirmation
and documentation

Receive your confirmation email and sign my agreement to mediate. The you'll receive my invoice, costs disclosure, intake and Zoom links for you and your client.

Have your client
complete intake

Provide you client with the online intake link together with the link to book a personal telephone intake for their confidential session.

Let's mediate
and resolve this dispute!

Check your Zoom link or confirm your venue if we are in-person and provide me with any material you'd like to consider before we get started.

Where do I find your availability?

Head on over to my bookings page and you’ll find my up to date live availability to share with your client and colleague so you can all find a mutually convenient date.

What are your fees?

I work on a fixed fee basis of $4,000 + GST ($2,000 + GST per party) per day. All fees are exclusive of venue hire. French Quarter Chambers and Mediation Centre hire fee is currently $400 ($200 per party) + GST for a full day.

Can you hold a tentative date for me?

Yes, I am happy to pencil in a date for you and will usually hold it for 2-3 business days while you confirm it with your client and your colleague representing your client’d former partner.

Can my client attend mediation alone with me in the background?

Over the past few years I have gained the trust of many practitioners who send their clients to mediation with me knowing that I will not let their clients agree to anything widely outside an acceptable court range. I offer regular breaks for clients to phone you and you can even speak to me during the mediation if you have any concerns.
